This is called "Black Tulip". With this painting, I wanted to focus on red, and also use a photo of a tulip that I had taken a few summers ago. It was not a black tulip, but it was very dark purple. Subconsciously I added organic and figurative elements growing out of the bottom of the stem, making it a chapter in a story that suggests love, sadness, and perhaps some betrayal.
I'm a full time artist, a painter, designer, and photographer. My latest passion is digital art, but I'm still doing traditional art too. My art is influenced by everything and anything I can imagine! My paintings reflect my passion for the environment and science, as well as the process of creating and experimenting on canvas and paper.
